REGARDING THE CERTIFICATION OF KNOWLEDGE OF A THIRD LANGUAGE BY ALL STUDENTS BEGINNING THEIR BACHELOR DEGREE IN THE 2018-2019 ACADEMIC YEAR AND FOLLOWING YEARS IN ORDER TO OBTAIN THEIR BACHELOR DEGREE FROM RAMON LLULL UNIVERSITY ON COMPLETION OF THEIR STUDIES
In keeping with the sole article of Catalan Law 1/2018, from May 8 on the modification of Law 2/2014 on measures regarding taxation, administration, finances and the public sector:
- Students beginning their bachelor studies at a Catalan University in the 2018-2019 academic year and following years must certify knowledge of one of the foreign languages included in the Spanish University Access Tests (PAU) upon completion of their studies, demonstrating a level equivalent to B2 or higher within the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) of the Council of Europe.
- The certification referred to in section 1 can be obtained using language certificates recognized within the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). Through the Inter-University Council of Catalonia, the department responsible for university education is responsible for ensuring fulfilment of this procedure.
As a result, Ramon Llull University hereby informs all students beginning their bachelor studies from the 2018-2019 academic year onwards that, upon completion of their bachelor studies at Ramon Llull University, they must provide the necessary documents to certify before the Academic Secretariat that they have reached level B2 of the CEFR in one of the foreign languages included in the Spanish University Access Tests (PAU) in order to have their degree processed once having completed all the credits of each studies plan. This is in fulfilment of aforementioned Law 1/2018.
