1. What does “bilingual format” mean?
You can take the bachelor’s program 100% in English or in a bilingual format. The bilingual format means that courses will be in Catalan and Spanish for the first two years of the program. The last two years of the program, courses will be in English.
2. What universities can I visit with an Erasmus scholarship?
HTSI has a long list of international universities in Asia, America and Europe for study abroad programs.
3. When will I get to do my internships? Where can I do them?
You can do internships both in Spain and abroad. For the Bachelor’s Program, internships are a mandators part of the studies plan. Students do their internships during the fourth year of the program.
Plus, you can do extracurricular (non-mandatory) internships starting the summer of your first year. This will help you expand your experience with additional practical learning opportunities in businesses from the sector.

4. What job opportunities do the Bachelor’s Degree and double degree offer?
There are a whole range of professional opportunities for our bachelor’s students. They go from high-responsibility positions in areas like hotel business, event planning, tourism business management, intermediation or electronic marketing to job positions in other industries where hospitality and customer service are key.

5. What is the academic calendar for the Bachelor’s Degree?
Classes usually start in mid-September and end in early June. New students are asked to come earlier for an Introductory Week: a few days to get to know the School, our virtual campus and our academic system, and to break the ice with their new classmates.
Right now, because of Covid-19, classes will start in late September 2020.
6. What is the schedule for the Bachelor’s Degree in Tourism and Hospitality Management and the double degree?
The schedule for the Bachelor’s Degree is Monday to Friday, 9:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. If you’re taking the double degree, you’ll have an additional afternoon of classes during your first four years. In your fifth year, all classes will be in the afternoon.
7. Should I take my school admissions test before or after my Spanish University Access Tests (PAU)?
HTSI starts the admissions process in December and holds ongoing admissions test sessions until July.
Because of the Covid-19 situation, we are currently holding our admissions tests online.
We recommend taking your university admissions test before the PAU to make sure you can reserve a spot.
8. What is the university admissions test like? When will I know if I’ve been accepted?
If you’re thinking about studying at HTSI, we recommend taking your admissions test as soon as possible. It consists of an English test, a written motivation test, and an evaluation of your academic record. It lasts for two hours.
Once you’ve finished your admissions test, we’ll send you the results in 7-10 days. If you’re admitted, you can then reserve a spot.
9. When can I reserve my spot?
Once you’ve taken your admissions test and you’ve been admitted, you’ll have one month to reserve a spot.
10. Are there any scholarships I can get?
Yes: HTSI provides different types of scholarships, including one to help deal with the effects of the pandemic. Plus, we have some academic merit awards.
